Villas Boas’ €10M Pacy International Target Looks A Breathtaking Buy

Andre Villas-Boas’ attempts to strengthen his midfield have now lead to Turin, with the Chelsea manager targeting Juventus winger Milos Krasic.

Villas-Boas is keen to add more fresh faces at Stamford Bridge following the arrival of Juan Manuel Mata and he believes the Serbian can add a new level of versatility to the Chelsea midfield.

With the 33-year old eager to put his own stamp on the Chelsea squad, he is looking to maintain the right balance of youth and experience, and with the oldest of their summer arrivals so far aged just 23, Krasic, a seasoned player at the top level, despite only being 26 himself, could add experience to a team gradually becoming more youthful.

The Serbian winger has only been a Juventus player for a single season, but performed at a consistently high level throughout the season, and has seen his star continue to rise. Several eye-catching season at CSKA Moscow saw Krasic make the move to Italy and Serie A giants Juventus, where his pace and dribbiling ability tormented defenders across the country.

It is these abilities which many believe could make Krasic a star in the Premier League, a competition noted for it’s high speed style.

Juventus’ interest in Chelsea centre-back Alex has been well publicised, and the Metro are reporting that Villas-Boas may be willing to use the Brazillian defender as part of the deal to bring Krasic in.

While it may not be enough to just offer Alex in exchange for Krasic, Roman Abramovich seems willing to back Villas-Boas in the market, and a fee in the region of £10M may be required in addition to the defender to secure Krasic’s signature. Chelsea’s interest in Krasic could also mean that they are no longer pursuing Spurs’ playmaker Luka Modric following their recently rejected bid for the player.
