The Manchester City fans were feeling deflated in the Transfer Tavern yesterday after they suffered their first league defeat of the season.
Man City’s hoodoo at Anfield continued for yet another season yesterday, as they were defeated by 4 goals to 3 in a thrilling encounter on Merseyside. Liverpool were in scintillating form with the roar of the Kop behind them, and despite a late surge from the runaway league-leaders, The Reds were able to hold on and record a famous victory in the context of the season so far.
The afternoon was disappointing for Guardiola for more reasons than one, as Fabian Delph suffered an injury in the first-half that forced him to leave the field in place of Danilo.
And in the aftermath of proceedings, Guardiola confirmed that Delph will be ruled out “for a while”, much to the concern of The Citizens propping up our bar in the tavern.

Delph has been one of City’s unsung heroes of the season so far whilst deputising for Benjamin Mendy at left-back, so his presence in the side will be sorely missed.
In response to Delph’s injury update, the City fans have been discussing the options available to Guardiola and called for the signing of a new left-back this month.
Here’s what the fans had to say about Delph’s injury and City’s potential strategy to cover his absence.

Agreed but we need a specialist. Neither of Danilo was a backup to Delph and Zinchenko is not a defender. With CL coming up, we really need someone.
