Leeds United supporters in the Transfer Tavern have been revelling in their side’s sensational start to the 2017/18 season.
The Yorkshire giants narrowly missed out on a Championship play-off place last term under Garry Monk, who resigned in the summer after failing to agree a new long term deal with owner Andrea Radrizzani.
Yet Thomas Christiansen has come in and picked up where Monk left off by leading the side to five wins from their opening eight league matches, with their tally of 17 points enough to see them top the division at this early stage.
And things got even better for our resident Leeds supporters on Tuesday night, as the Whites knocked Premier League side Burnley out of the Carabao Cup after winning 5-3 on penalties at Turf Moor, having drawn 2-2 after 120 minutes.
And one man who played a key part in that success was defender Conor Shaughnessy, who has today put pen-to-paper on a new four year contract at Elland Road following a great start to his career at the club.

The 21-year-old only made his senior debut for the Yorkshire giants last month but has since then gone from strength to strength, with impressive displays against Fulham and indeed Burnley raising his stock ten-fold.
And Leeds have acted quickly to pin the Irishman down to an improved deal at Elland Road, news which has delighted many Whites supporters on Twitter…
Great news, well deserved, what a few months it’s been for Conor!
