As per RMC Sport, the North East club have now come into contact with Fofana’s entourage ahead of a potential move, and the Leicester City central defender is now becoming a ‘priority’ for them.

A concrete offer is expected to be made for him ‘in the coming weeks’, once he recovers from injury.

Even though Fofana is injured at the moment, the new owners should still be looking to bring him to Tyneside at all costs.
Currently rated at £36m by Transfermarkt, the 6 foot 3 beast was instrumental in firing the Foxes into fifth spot in the Premier League table once more last season, winning no fewer than 6.5 of his duels per game, while also averaging 3.3 clearances, 2.2 interceptions and 1.8 tackles per match (Sofascore).
