Our West Brom fans here in the Transfer Tavern want to see signings this January but Shane Long doesn’t look like he’ll be one of them – according to The Birmingham Mail.
The Baggies are looking very good this season and have caught the eye of many a punter here by the bar for the way they have performed this season.
The combination of defensive organisation and attacking flair has seen them become European challengers this season and so a few deals this month would surely bolster that.
It appears, though, any deal for a return to the club for Irishman Long is off the cards.
The report claims that the club will instead look for other players in this window and so our local Baggies punters are waiting with abated breath to see who might just come in.
They would have liked Long, in many ways, and so they are hoping that this snub is down to them targeting higher quality players.
Exciting times for West Brom, then, and our landlord wouldn’t be surprised if Tony Pulis pulled out a rabbit or two before the end of the window.
