Our West Ham and Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to facing one another next season with the Magpies returning to the Premier League.
Although not a traditional rivalry in English football the two sides do have some shared history of late with the likes of Andy Carroll and Kevin Nolan – as well as Sam Allardyce – all being associated with the pair.
Their battle, then, should be one to look out for in 2017/18 and it appears they are already looking set to lock horns in the battle to sign Michy Batshuayi.
For sure, that is according to Kristof Terreur on Twitter who revealed:

The young Belgian scored the goal that won Chelsea the league this season but didn’t really play much and so a move away could be on the cards.
