As West Ham sunk to a disappointing 2-0 defeat against Wolves at Molineux on Wednesday, Manuel Pellegrini tried to change the course of the game by making a substitution in the 79th minute (@WestHam).
The Chilean opted to bring on striker Albian Ajeti, who replaced Sebastien Haller for the final minutes of the contest in the West Midlands.

It was a change that left many Hammers fans baffled. At the time of the change Wolves were just 1-0 up meaning that West Ham still had a chance of getting back into it.
But Pellegrini’s decision to replace one striker with another, rather than having them both on the pitch at the same time, certainly didn’t go down well with plenty of supporters.
Ultimately the change failed to have the desired impact and Wolves added a second goal in the 86th minute to seal all three points (BBC Sport).
Quite a few West Ham fans vented their frustrations at the like-for-like change on Twitter, suggesting that it was a poor decision by the ex-Manchester City manager.
