A lot of West Ham fans are excited over the latest transfer reports, which are saying that the club are monitoring on-loan West Brom playmaker Matheus Pereira ahead of the summer transfer window, via Football Insider.
The Brazilian is on loan from Sporting Lisbon and has enjoyed a successful season so far in the Championship, scoring six goals and assisting 16, per Transfermarkt. This is more goal contributions than West Ham trio Pablo Fornals, Felipe Anderson and Sebastien Haller have combined, per Whoscored, albeit at a lower level.
Football Insider report that Pereira is available in the summer for around £8 million and West Brom are able to submit that bid if they get promoted. However, it would be interesting to see if heads were turned if the Hammers joined in on negotiations.
If West Ham could manage to convince him to move to East London, they would certainly have themselves a player who has an eye for creating goals, as Pereira has averaged 2.5 key passes per game this term, via Sofascore.

Matheus Pereira would be a good addition to the West Ham squad – has impressed for West Brom this season and would be a good option for West Ham next season. What with Lanzini seemingly heading for the exit – Pereira would be close to a like for like replacement.

If we could get him for around the same price WBA arranged in the loan deal (£8.25m) this would be brilliant!
23, quick, great on the ball, excellent set pieces & a wicked shot!
Can play across the front 3 & would be an excellent Lanzini/Yarm replacement! https://t.co/TNi9nchIEx— Steven McCarthy (@StevenMcCarthy9) March 19, 2020
