It is set to be a busy end to the transfer window for West Ham with both arrivals and departures expected before deadline day next Thursday.
Manager Manuel Pellegrini is still looking to add to his squad with a quartet of Primeira Liga players including Porto’s Yacine Brahimi being lined up for moves to the London Stadium, according to Sky Sports.
Oxford, who is valued at £4.5m by Transfermarkt, spent last season out on loan with Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach.
However, the 19-year-old could now be set for a permanent exit away from the London Stadium.
Given the Hammers already have Issa Diop, Fabian Balbuena, Angelo Ogbonna and Winston Reid as their current centre-back options, it would come as no surprise if Oxford left the east London club ahead of the new Premier League season.
In this moment of time, Pellegrini simply has no room for the West Ham youth product.
