A large number of West Ham fans are heaping praise on young academy star Jeremy Ngakia after his appearance in the 3-1 victory against Southampton at the weekend.
The 19-year-old full-back has only made three appearances in the Premier League for the Hammers, with two coming against Liverpool (Transfermarkt). David Moyes has taken a liking to him though and has fancied him over experienced veteran and ex-Premier League winner Pablo Zabaleta recently.
The West Ham social media team tweeted out a video on Monday, showing his highlights in the game at the weekend with Ngakia speaking about the game.
Whilst the Irons have spent a lot on their attack, the fact that a player from the academy has performed well has excited a lot of fans, with them hoping he can push on and help them push away from the relegation zone. West Ham are currently in 16th (BBC Sport), but with players from the academy coming through, there is a lot of hope for the future of the club.
