West Ham: Fans reminisce over game which saw great Joe Cole goal against Arsenal

Many West Ham United fans are reminiscing about a goal scored by former Iron Joe Cole in a London derby against rivals Arsenal, after the club showed highlights of it on Twitter.

The Hammers thought they were going to come away with a great victory as they led 2-0, thanks to Freddie Kanoute and a lovely finish from Cole. The Englishman, who scored 17 goals in 179 appearances, per Transfermarkt, received the ball outside the box and smashed it past the Gunners goalkeeper, via BBC Sport.

However a goal from Thierry Henry and then a last minute equaliser from Sylvain Wiltord meant that the game finished 2-2, but Irons fans were happy that they stopped the North London side from  beating a record of 15 consecutive victories in the league.

Cole came from the academy, per Transfermarkt, and was adored by fans before moving to Chelsea where he won the Premier League three times as well as winning the FA Cup, the League Cup and the Community Shield.

Here is what fans had to say following the tweet:
