It is two years since West Ham lost 3-0 to Burnley at the London Stadium (BBC Sport). Few cared about the scoreline that day however as fans protests stole the headline as some stormed onto the pitch and chanted in front of the director’s box.
Fans were unhappy with owners David Sullivan, Karren Brady, and David Gold as they felt that the three cared more about the club from a business aspect rather than from a footballing aspect. The protests saw fans pulling out and attempting to take the corner flags out whilst club captain Mark Noble grabbed fans who were running onto the pitch to try and help stewards in restraining them.
It was a crazy day in the Premier League, with one fan referring to it as a ‘dark day’, and it is one that will hopefully not happen again. But two years on and nothing has changed, many Hammers fans are still unhappy with the board, but protests have taken a more peaceful stance (The Telegraph).

The match was secondary to what happened in the stadium with fans running on the pitch and confronting the owners in the most toxic atmosphere I’ve witnessed as a fan.

It was a day when I looked around the stadium and thought that the club had just gone. It was a culmination of the then unraveling of our football club to which it still has not recovered. Thinking back, the whole thing was just quite sad. What were your memories of this day?
