Described as both ‘necessary’ and a ‘disappointment’ in equal measure (per the club’s official website in December) at the time by David Sullivan, West Ham United’s decision to sack manager Manuel Pellegrini was questioned by a number of supporters on Twitter last night.
Having lost to Manchester City at home, the Irons are without a win in their last five games and trail Aston Villa by a point as they sit in the Premier League’s bottom three, leaving David Moyes in a difficult position. Indeed, the Scotsman has games against Liverpool, Southampton, Wolves, Arsenal and Tottenham coming up, making the next few weeks a daunting period when it comes to trying to ensure safety.
While losing to City is by no means a shock, Football.London’s Sam Inkersole hinted at a worrying performance for those clad in claret and blue, with plenty of supporters online lamenting the club’s decision to bring Moyes back to the club after sacking Pellegrini.
