West Ham fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are sobbing their hearts out as their cult hero has turned down the opportunity of playing again in a claret and blue shirt.
According to MailOnline, the Hammers have not been able to tempt Boca Junior’s, Carlos Tevez back to London after they failed to meet the player’s wage demands.
It’s believed they offered the former Man City and United forward a deal worth £150,000 a week, which would have made him the highest paid player West Ham in history.
But despite this extortionate offer, it was not enough for the 32-year-old who said he’d leave Boca if they would pay him £250,000 a week.
If they could lure Tevez to the Olympic Stadium it would definitely fit the bill of a marquee signing, as the club look take the quality of their squad to the next level this summer.
West Ham fans. How excited were about the prospects of Carlos Tevez returning? Should the board just give him the money? Let us know your thoughts below…
