A lot of the West Ham United fan base were fuming with the performance of Andriy Yarmolenko during the FA Cup match on Tuesday night.
The Hammers faced Manchester United at Old Trafford and took the game to extra-time, but sadly conceded during this period and were knocked out.
David Moyes’ side only registered one shot on target in the whole game and a lot of this will be blamed on Yarmolenko as he was the starting striker for this match due to the fact that Michail Antonio was rested.
It is easy to see why many fans were frustrated as the Ukrainian picked up a 6.6 rating- this was the third lowest out of the starting players on the pitch. One fan said he was ‘poor’, whilst another said he ‘didn’t do anything’.
He didn’t manage a single shot, only had 18 touchers and lost possession six times (SofaScore). To make things worse, he had to be taken off in the 54th minute after he looked to suffer an injury. Hopefully the injury will not see him out for a long period, but if he is given another chance by Moyes, he needs to perform a lot better.
Here is what West Ham fans said about Yarmolenko:
“We all know that Fornals and Yarmolenko are poor or average game to game, I”m saying something that isn’t said”
“Such a predictable situation. Yarmolenko is never going to be the answer. Very, very poor from the club.”
“Noble was shocking and Yarmolenko didn’t do anything”
“I hate Haller and I love Antonio but Yarmolenko is simply awful”
“Yarmolenko been awful, Fornals is not a wide player, Noble played well”
“Pull Yarmolenko off at half time and never put him in a shirt again”
