West Ham supporters slate fan account on Twitter for suggesting Mooy signing

On Saturday, West Ham were truly embarrassed by Manchester City. The Hammers lost 4-0 at home and showed little fight in the game as they rolled over at the hands of Pepe Guardiola’s juggernaut. A lot of West Ham fans then tuned in to watch Wolves vs Huddersfield and when one Hammers fan tweeted that they could use a player like Aaron Mooy, his fellow supporters didn’t agree.

Mooy started life at Huddersfield in the Premier League well last season and the Australian midfielder was key to everything that The Terriers achieved, with their Premier league survival being put down to him mostly. However, his goals dried up in the second half of the 2017/18 season, meaning that his double against Wolves on Sunday with each goal coming in each half saw him score his first two goals of 2018.

Meanwhile, West Ham have the likes of Jack Wilshere, Declan Rice and Pedro Obiang as their central midfielders and it’s unlikely that they’ll be calling out for Aaron Mooy to be added to their squad. Not to mention the fact that when he returns, Manuel Lanzini will be the jewel in The Hammers crown, as he always seems to be when the extremely talented Argentine takes to the pitch.

It’s fair to say the Hammers won’t be best pleased if Manuel Pellegrini signs Mooy in January as the fans believe they can do much better than the Australian.
