West Ham tipped to cause potentially big money merry-go-round

Our West Ham fans here in the Transfer Tavern want to see their side finish as high as possible this season but are worried that their side have already gone on holiday.

It seems pretty safe to assume now that the Hammers are safe in the Premier League this season whilst it also looks highly unlikely that they are going to finish near the European spots.

They’re in that area of not really having much to play for this season, then, and after their loss at Bournemouth at the weekend you can understand our Hammers punters’ concerns.

Off the pitch, too, they want to see more ambition and – according to The Daily Star – they may at least get that with the sale of Andy Carroll paving the way for Daniel Sturridge to arrive.

Certainly, this would be a real statement of intent with the Liverpool man a peripheral figure at Anfield but it looks like there’ll be plenty of money spent for this to all happen.

The Hammers are reportedly prepared to spend £25 million whilst Carroll was a £32 million target for Chinese clubs in January and so this could be fascinating to watch when summer arrives.
