Writing on Twitter, transfer insider and talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook has shared a potential Declan Rice blow for David Moyes and West Ham United – with a transfer away to Chelsea looking eventually ‘inevitable‘.
This comes as a potential blow for West Ham who face losing their star midfielder in a move to Chelsea at some point.
Transfer insider shares news
Despite news of Frank Lampard’s position at Stamford Bridge being far from secure, with the ex-Iron apparently a major driving force behind the west Londoners’ desire to sign Rice, Crook has hinted that a Rice exit could still be on the cards.
Will Declan Rice leave West Ham?
Yes, good luck to him but it's inevitable
No, he isn't going anywhere
Hammers insiders Claret & Hugh had hinted that Lampard’s questionable future at Chelsea could have thrown a spanner in the works for their pursuit of West Ham’s star man, but Crook has now come out with a contrary update on the situation.
With him repeatedly linked with a move across London, the transfer journalist has shared that Rice will inevitably move to his former club, coming as a potential blow for Moyes who would almost certainly be keen to not see one of his star assets leave.
Rice future breakdown
The 21-year-old recently opened up about his future, dropping a potential hint that he could, in fact, head out of West Ham in order to compete for trophies and refusing to rule out that possibility.
ExWHUemployee also claimed that while a move away in January is against the odds, a significant bid from Chelsea could prompt GSB into considering sanctioning his sale this month.
Whether or not Chelsea lodge an offer big enough to sway the Irons remains to be seen, but according to Crook, an eventual move away looks ‘inevitable’ in a potential worry for Moyes and co.
