Loads of West Ham United fans have been left buzzing about the emergence of young right-back Jeremy Ngakia following his second appearance for the club in their 3-2 defeat against Liverpool on Monday.
The 19-year-old played the full 90 minutes at Anfield and, in fairness, did not look out of place one bit. Indeed, he performed very well and won nine ground duels and seven tackles, made four clearances and three interceptions whilst also completing two successful dribbles (SofaScore).
With Ryan Fredericks recently suffering a shoulder injury (whufc.com), the Hammers’ right-back position is up for grabs at the moment, along with more experienced Pablo Zabaleta.
It seems that most Irons fans now want the Scot to stick with Ngakia for the foreseeable future and give him a proper run in the starting line-up. Some even suggest that they rate him better than first choice Fredericks and that he should be ahead of him in the pecking order as well as Zabaleta.
