West Ham United will be hoping to secure their Premier League status in the final few games of the season and move forward to the summer, where they hope they will be able to strengthen their ranks and have a much better campaign next time out.

The Hammers, who have picked up a bit since David Moyes took over, will be hoping to give their fans something to shout about next year, and here in the Tavern, it’s safe to say our Hammers punters are expecting a whole lot better.

Our landlord thinks the club needs a bit of an overhaul, and he expects to see plenty of player movement both in and out of the club over the summer.

The striking positions are always something which are up for debate, and summer signing Javier Hernandez has failed to deliver in the main, while Andy Carroll remains injury prone.

A new striker is a must at the London Stadium, and we’ve identified TWO potential strikers the club could look to sign in the summer…

Charlie Austin

The Southampton man has been a big loss for the Saints this season after missing much of the campaign with injury, and with the club looking like dropping into the Championship, he could well look for a move.

West Ham would be the ideal sort of club for Austin, and if he can stay fit, he should guarantee goals.

Strong, experienced, and an excellent finisher, Austin would be a superb addition for the Hammers and would be a player the fans could easily get behind from the get go.

Tammy Abraham

Abraham’s time with Swansea has not quite gone as he would have liked following his excellent showings for Bristol City last season, and another summer move could be on the cards.

Chelsea are unlikely to put Abraham straight into the first team squad, with the likes of Morata and Giroud ahead of him, and a move to the Hammers might well make sense.

Abraham is a handful, and on his day can trouble even the best defences. If given the right sort of chance and run in the first team, there is little doubt he can produce the goods in the top flight.
