Why let him go Chelsea? 2 reasons why the Blues must not let this striker join Liverpool

Our Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait to see what the future holds with Antonio Conte in charge at their club.

The Blues have been by some way the best side in the division this year and what’s made that all the more impressive is that their Italian manager is still in his first year in charge.

The thinking, then, must be that he’s only going to get stronger at the helm of the club over the coming seasons and so a real dominant period could be about to dawn for the club.

One man who may not be a part of that, though, is Dominic Solanke with The Sun linking him with a move to Liverpool in the summer.

That would surely send a few shock-waves around the bar and our landlord reckons Chelsea would be silly to let the forward go – here are two reasons why…

Big potential

He’s still a very young player with plenty of potential to become a top Premier League footballer.

Looking for the next young star is always on the minds of the elite clubs in this country and, indeed, Europe and so for Chelsea to let him go before they’ve really seen him in action makes little sense. He’s got the attributes to succeed at this level and Antonio Conte should try and nurture that a little more for now.

Chelsea are short up top

Chelsea are a fantastic team and have a very good squad but you look at their striking options and think it’s actually quite short of players.

Diego Costa is a world-class option and Michy Batshuayi is an exciting proposition as back-up but past that they have very little to call on. Solanke is certainly an alternative to have at the club, though, and so the Blues should think carefully about shipping out when they could really do with him.
