Lady luck played a key part during Wolves’ 1-0 victory against Leeds United at Molineux on Friday night.
A long-range effort from Adama Traore struck the crossbar before hitting the back of Whites’ goalkeeper Illan Meslier before ricocheting into the back of his own net.

Despite this, The Athletic journalist Tim Spiers highlighted two players for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side that shone on the night.
Spiers speaks out
While admitting that there were a few scares that the North Yorkshire outfit brought to the table, he said that goalkeeper Rui Patricio and captain Conor Coady were the two players that stood out for him during the 90 minutes.
It wasn’t without alarm but that was a really decent all-round performance, some adventurous attacking play backed up by an outstanding performance from Rui Patricio. Thought Coady was exceptional too.

Wolves’ number 11 made seven saves, six of those being inside the penalty area and earned the highest match rating from Sofascore with 8.9. Equally so, Coady won 100% of his ground duels, blocked three shots and only lost possession seven times.
Transfer Tavern Verdict
Spiers is spot on here. Both Patricio and Coady put in solid showings as their team continue to get results after their recent slump in form.
This makes qualifying for Europe a much more realistic objective as their key goal. Time will tell whether they can maintain consistency to get there.
In other news, Wolves could capture wonderkid for as little as six-figure sum.
