There have been too many drab results for the Citizens this season and if they are to really solidify their dominance in English football once again, things need to change in the very near future.
With the likes of Spurs, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal all putting the pressure on, the need for improvement is very clear indeed but at a club like City, things need to give before you invest mega-bucks.
And for a club with endless amounts of cash, getting rid of deadwood players that ultimately won’t help win Premier League crowns is key, or they’re never going to be good enough to seriously challenge at the top.

Bacary Sagna
It’s been a long-time coming, and still City fans here in the pub are hoping for a new full-back to be signed.
City have an ageing squad that certainly isn’t getting younger and with some top-class full-backs floating around Europe, you do wonder why players like Bacary Sagna are still making the matchday XI every week.
He’s been a good option for the Citizens over the years but one that has simply gone past his sell-by-date. City need an injection of youth and quality in the ranks and at the moment, he isn’t the sort of player that is good enough over a whole campaign to fire his team to glory.
Vincent Kompany
This one certainly isn’t the easiest choice in the world and there are plenty of City fans here in the pub that disagree, but it’s time for Vincent Kompany to hang up his boots at the Etihad.
The captain has been magnificent during his time at the club but in the last few months, he’s been plagued by injury and his future as team-starter and club-captain is certainly in doubt.
With some bright young talent waiting to come through the academy and endless talent on the market, is it time to cut ties with the long-serving captain?
Ultimately, if City want to progress then yes it is, however tough that might be.
