The Tottenham fans here in the Transfer Tavern have had a lot to talk about over the last couple of seasons, as their side have become prominent at the top of the league.
In 2015/16 many thought, not just the Tottenham supporters, that they would snatch the title off of Leicester at the very end but it wasn’t to be as their young squad fell at the final hurdle.
That, though, left the fans feeling optimistic ahead of this season and so far they’ve duly been repaid with Spurs going unbeaten so far this season.
A number of players have also shot to prominence in the last couple of years, Dele Alli in particular and the fans have been debating how good he could be.
Some reckon the club should keep him at all costs but others think the club could be better off getting rid of him.

Pro 1: Big fee
He’d certainly command a big fee in this current market.
With the size of fees being thrown around for players far worse than the England international Tottenham could ask for a lot of money and they’d surely have a lot of offers from around Europe.
It would then be up to Daniel Levy to sort out and we all know he knows what he’s doing in that regard.
Con 1: Huge potential
He looks like he could be a real player.
His rise from MK Dons to England international has been nothing short of meteoric and it looks as though he’s only going to get better.
Once he’s had another year of Premier League experience under his belt as well as Champions League football this season we could have a real star on our hands.
Pro 2: Not a guaranteed success
For all that potential it means nothing just yet.
Plenty of players have shown glimpses of a bright future and even performed well in the Premier League at a young age before fizzling out and that will always be a risk around Alli too.
Spurs will hope that isn’t the case but if they signs of him beginning to plateau they could think it’s time to cash in.
Con 2: Harms Spurs’ reputation
If Spurs were to simply sell Dele Alli what kind of message would that send to the rest of the players?
All of a sudden the squad would be thinking: ‘We’re selling our best players here where’s the ambition?’ and probably want out themselves.
Any potential deal involving Alli leaving could cause havoc in the dressing room and leave Spurs’ team facing more departures.
