It’s been an up-and-down season at Manchester United this season and Jose Mourinho is still pushing for that coveted Champions League place.

United fans lining the bar here in the Tavern have been surprised to see the struggles their team has faced on the pitch at times this season and after too many home draws, it’s going to be a real fight to the death to reach Europe.

It’s one of the biggest things for any club like United to reach the Champions League year after year and it gives great pulling power to bringing in any potential recruits over the summer.

But if they don’t reach the Champions League, what sort of impact might that have on Jose Mourinho’s summer investment? Our United fans here in the pub are a little concerned, as is the landorld- a massive Red Devils supporter.

Offering Ibra a new contract

Despite his concerning long-term injury blow, there are plenty of punters here in the pub that believe United should offer Zlatan Ibrahimovic a new contract at the club this summer.

The Swede has been quality for the Reds this season and at times, he’s carried the whole squad on his back.

He’s more than deserving of a new deal going forward.

Bringing in a “star” player

United have some good players in their squad but they’re really missing that “star man” at Old Trafford.

With Ibrahimovic out for a long period of time going forward, they need to bring in a player that can carry the squad when the going really gets tough.

Pogba hasn’t been as influential as expected but Woodward needs to really fork out on a big player in the coming months.
