Thanks to some strong recent form, Spurs are back amongst the title-chasers in the Premier League and their fans here in the Tavern are absolutely delighted!
Ahead of a busy schedule in the coming weeks, it’s imperative that Mauricio Pochettino’s team pick up as many points as possible if they are to catch Chelsea and Liverpool in the race for the Premier League title.
Spurs were the closest thing that Leicester City had to challengers last season and if they can keep the goals flowing, especially between hotshot pairing Dele Alli and Harry Kane, things should be looking good when May rolls around in a few months time.
But with the January transfer window now upon us, there are a few names that keep cropping up amongst fans in the Tavern concerning potential transfer targets that should come to White Hart Lane.
And with some help with some of our Spurs-mad locals we’ve put a list of players together who we think would excel at White Hart Lane.
So with that in mind, here’s 2 players Spurs should buy in January…
Julian Brandt

He’s the Bayer Leverkusen youngster who has been setting the Bundesliga on fire for a couple of years now and some are surprised he hasn’t already made a high-profile transfer away from the club.
We think he’d be a cracking fit at Spurs – he’s young and has plenty of time to develop and already looks to be a fantastic player at 20-years-old.
He’d be a cracking option for using in European competitions too – he’s got experience of that with Leverkusen.
Anthony Knockaert

He’s the Brighton winger that has been setting the Championship on fire this season and there would be a few Seagulls fans who wouldn’t be surprised to see him move on to bigger and brighter things this month.
He’s pacy, skillful and a hard-worker and has been a massive part of the success Brighton have had this season.
It’d be a massive step-up for the Frenchman but we think he’s more than capable of moving up to the top level in English football.
Tottenham took a punt on Dele Alli, and look how that turned out. It’s a risk, but he will be worth it.
