2017/18 Man City starting XI: These 2 starlets will surely be pushing for a start

Manchester City will be hoping to secure a top four spot over the coming weeks and cement Champions League football once again at the Etihad.

The club have hardly been renowned for blooding youngsters over the last few years, choosing to spend big on international stars and established performers.

However, the City fans here in the Tavern this week have been chatting to our landlord over a few pints of ale, and they think next season could change, with a few young players knocking on the door for a first team place under Pep Guardiola.

If this is the case, it will be interesting to see just how Pep utilises the youngsters in his squad, and how he integrates them into the first team.

With this in mind, here’s TWO Man City youngsters who could be pushing for a first team start next season…

Angelino

The 20-year-old defender is one of a few players at City who has been there for a while and been knocking on the door for a while.

Angelino could well be ready to break into the first team on a full time basis next year, and he might well be the hidden gem Pep has been looking for.

Pablo Maffeo

Another player who has already made a few noises around the first team, Maffeo is someone who could well go onto cement a place in the first team next year given the chance.

With Maffeo still only 19, he has plenty of time to impress, and Pep Guardiola will no doubt have his eye on the youngster going into next season.
