After a campaign marred by injury last year, the Englishman was expected to come back into the side this season and make a real impact – but it just hasn’t happened.
Jose Mourinho has rarely utilised the defender, and whilst he has struggled intermittently with injury, Shaw has regularly simply been left out of matchday squads.
With his Man Utd future looking increasingly under threat, Mourinho has chosen to make the very same decision once again – with Sky Sports reporting that Shaw has been left out of Man Utd’s squad to face FC Rostov on Thursday – and this has certainly surprised the Manchester United fans here in the Tavern.
Of course, it is possible that the defender has a slight knock – but previous evidence would hint towards an ulterior motive for Mourinho. He was, of course, left out of Man Utd’s Europa League squad to face Saint-Etienne too.
With Luke Shaw reportedly considering his future at Man Utd if his game time does not improve – could we be seeing the end of his tenure in Manchester? Our landlord thinks so…
