Another win came in the Champions League this week, and the Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are delighted…

The Lilywhites are firing on all cylinders at present, but they need to keep their excellent run of form going. A win against Huddersfield on Saturday will serve as a message to their Premier League rivals that they cannot be ruled out yet.

The Terriers won’t be an easy side face, though. They’ve adjusted to life in the Premier League very well indeed, and there’s no doubting that they will make a real go of it when the whistle blows on Saturday at lunchtime.

Tottenham have a number of injury concerns to deal with ahead of the game, with key men like Dembele and Rose still unavailable, whilst Serge Aurier is suspended.

All this combined, then, will make Mauricio Pochettino’s team selection very interesting indeed. He simply has to get it right.

With that said, if Pochettino picks this Tottenham XI, Huddersfield will have no chance…

 GK – Hugo Lloris

Hugo Lloris is the captain of this fantastic team, and he is undoubtedly one of Tottenham’s best players.

He is always consistent between the sticks, and Pochettino will have no concerns about how he will perform.

 CB – Toby Alderweireld

The Belgian defender is one of Europe’s best, and he continues to impress for Tottenham.

They may have a new-look defence, but it’s the same old stellar form for Alderweireld.

 CB – Davinson Sanchez

He has settled into life in London fantastically, and he’s formed a fantastic partnership with the people alongside him in this defence.

Sanchez has room for improvement, but what better way to learn than by being a part of this extremely talented defensive line.

 CB – Jan Vertonghen

The Belgian provides excellent leadership at the back, and has adjusted to this new formation nicely.

Providing agility and technical skill, Vertonghen is a fantastic option for Pochettino to have in this defence.

He’s as solid as a rock.

 RWB – Kieran Trippier

With Serge Aurier suspended, Kieran Trippier is likely to come back into the side.

He hadn’t done anything wrong as such, but Aurier provides more exciting attacking play, and that’s why the Frenchman has been preferred lately.

That said, Pochettino won’t be worried – Trippier is as solid as they come.

 CM – Moussa Sissoko

Sissoko has been a revelation in the Tottenham midfield, playing more centrally than he typically has in the past.

With Dembele out injured, Sissoko is likely to step in once again, and another top performance could see the Belgian midfielder forced out of the team for good.

He’s needed a good run of form, and he’s certainly found it.

 CM – Eric Dier

Eric Dier has found a place back in the heart of the midfield, and he has taken his chance with both hands.

Solid defensively and providing an offensive outlet to boot, the Englishman continues to impress in the heart of the midfield.

 LWB – Ben Davies

Ben Davies has been a revelation.

When Danny Rose got injured, fans in the pub bemoaned the fact that Davies would replace him – but he has come on leaps and bounds under Pochettino.

In truth, Rose is going to struggle to get back into the team when he eventually returns – Davies has been that good.

 CAM – Dele Alli

Dele Alli was suspended for Tottenham’s Champions League fixture, and the rest would have done him good.

He has struggled a bit so far this term, and needs to start firing on all cylinders as we all know he can.

His partnership with Harry Kane will continue to be crucial.

 CAM – Christian Eriksen

Another player that missed Champions League duty, Eriksen has recovered from a bout of sickness.

Mauricio Pochettino will welcome him back with open arms, and his creativity will be key.

 ST – Harry Kane

Who else?

Kane is the most important member of this team, and you can nearly always guarantee goals when he is playing.

If Tottenham win, expect Kane to be behind the victory.
