Ahead of a busy festive schedule, the West Ham United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are losing more and more hope by the day!
The Hammers were put to the sword by a ruthless Arsenal outfit at the weekend as they lost 5-1 at home to the Gunners.
It was another shoddy display by Slaven Bilic’s under-performing side, who look set to continue to struggle as the season progresses.
Their move to the London Stadium continues to be marred by poor play on the pitch and it’s clear change is needed in the very near future. The same players as last season just aren’t reaching the desired standard and if things continue, relegation really could be on the cards for the Hammers.
So with the January window edging ever closer, the question going around here by the bar is who should the Croatian manager be looking to sign to turn around the fortunes of his team?

Ovie Ejaria
We’ve seen some fantastic young players grace the turf at Anfield in the past and as the season has gone on, it’s become clear the Reds have plenty more where that came from in their ranks.
Indeed, one man that continues to make a name for himself is Ovie Ejaria, who has impressed when given the opportunity by Jurgen Klopp this season.
The young attacking midfield has pace, is powerful and looks destined for the top so a loan switch to West Ham would be fantastic for his development and might give the Hammers more hope in the second half of the campaign.
Dwight Gayle
If there is one man that has really set the Championship on fire this season, it’s Dwight Gayle.
The former Crystal Palace man has been in superlative form for title chasing Newcastle United so far this campaign and he is the sort of player that might be able to drag West Ham away from the drop zone.
He’s scored 13 so far this season and you wouldn’t bet against him bagging many more over the coming months.
Pablo Zabaleta
It’s becoming increasingly clear that Pablo Zabaleta’s time at Manchester City could be coming to an end.
With Pep Guardiola sometimes choosing to play three at the back and rotating between the Argentine and Bacary Sagna when playing a back four, he’s seen playing time limted.
He’s a man with bags of experience who might have the leadership qualities to drag West Ham away from the drop-zone.
