The Tottenham fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have been blessed with some real attacking quality over the years.
Harry Kane is the latest in the long line of fantastic attacking players at Tottenham, and the Lilywhites in the Football Transfer Tavern are consistently discussing how good he would be alongside some of the players from yesteryear.
It got our landlord thinking about how important striking partnerships used to be, with pairings like Eidur Gudjohnson and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, or Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp dominating the Premier League.
With that said, one particularly vocal Tottenham fan in the Football Transfer Tavern thinks that none of those partnerships would hold a candle to Harry Kane and some of these heroes from Tottenham’s past…

Jimmy Greaves
Whilst some of the Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern would argue that Jimmy Greaves spent his best years at Chelsea – there is no doubting that he is one of the best forwards that Tottenham have had the pleasure of seeing.
Greaves would be masterful alongside Harry Kane purely for the fact that the goals the pair would have scored together would have been remarkable.
During his spell with Tottenham, Greaves scored an incredible 266 in 381 games, making him the club’s highest ever goalscorer.
An incredible player, and he would have been unbelievable alongside Kane.
Bobby Smith
Bobby Smith was a fan favourite amongst the Tottenham faithful in the Football Transfer Tavern for his escapades during Tottenham’s successful period around 1960.
He was prolific year-after-year and won a collection of trophies whilst with the Lilywhites.
He would contrast well with Kane, with his key traits including his imposing frame and raw power combining with Kane’s pace and technical ability.

Teddy Sheringham
The Man Utd fans have attempted to claim Teddy Sheringham as their own, but the Tottenham fans in-house tonight have a very strong case to consider Sheringham as a Lilywhite.
Whilst he won the majority of his trophies with Man Utd, it was with Tottenham that the striker managed to find some of his best form as one-half of a striking duo.
Playing alongside strikers like Jurgen Klinsmann and Robbie Keane, Sheringham proved himself as a marvel of centre-forward play, and he could prove absolutely deadly alongside Harry Kane.
They are players in a relatively similar mould, but they would be perfect together.
