It has definitely been an exciting summer to be a Tottenham fan.
A number of huge names have been brought in, some of which have made an immediate impact – but there is still a lot of business to be done.
Tottenham fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern have been passing names around over who they think the club is going to sign over the next 24 hours or so; and any forthcoming deals look set to go down to the wire.
Our landlord has told them whilst they shouldn’t expect any huge deals tomorrow; they can definately look forward to at least one deal being confirmed.
With that said, here are THREE players that Tottenham should sign before tomorrow’s 11:30pm deadline…
Georges-Kevin N’Koudou
Georges-Kevin N’Koudou has been linked with a move to Tottenham all summer; and the deal has been in it’s closing stages for weeks.
The midfielder is currently training at Hotspur Way ahead of the move, so Tottenham are seemingly confident that the deal will still go through – but they are running out of time to make it happen.
The talented Frenchman will add some real depth to the Tottenham attacking line, and he will likely be able to make an immediate impact at the club.
Before any additional targets are located and pursued; Tottenham must close up any ongoing deals that they currently have. The deal for N’Koudou must be completed sooner rather than later, or Spurs risk missing out.
Pau Lopez
Another deal that Tottenham should look to seal before tomorrow evening is a move for Espanyol keeper Pau Lopez.
The 21-year old represents a long-term goalkeeping solution for Spurs, with Hugo Lloris nearing 30-year’s old and often touted with a move away from White Hart Lane here in the Football Transfer Tavern.
Lopez has impressed in goal for Espanyol despite his tender years, and has made nearly 40 appearances so far for the club. Whilst he might not get a game for several years, it definitely makes sense to bring him in early and aid his adjustment to life in England.
His transfer would likely involve an immediate loan away from the club, but it would make sense for Pochettino and Spurs to seal the deal this summer.
Isco
Though any deal for Isco is unlikely, if Tottenham can pull it off it would be the heist of the century.
For all the talent that Tottenham have brought in this summer, they thus far lack that one recognisable name – that one name that can turn a good window into a great window.
Chelsea have done it with N’Golo Kante, whilst Manchester United have done it with Paul Pogba – Tottenham must replace that and bring in a world-renowned talent. Isco fits that mould perfectly.
If the Daily Mirror is to be believed, Tottenham have made an offer to bring the Madrid star in on loan – and what a coup it would be.
Whether it happens or not remains to be seen; but Isco would fit Tottenham’s style of play perfectly and give them the edge that is necessary to compete for the title.
