West Ham United have endured a seriously torrid start to this Premier League campaign and there are many Hammers that aren’t too happy in the Transfer Tavern right now…
They sit in the bottom three after just one win out in the Premier League – but you’d like to think a turnaround isn’t too far away.
After all, with such a high profile move to the London Stadium really earmarking the Hammers as a growing team in the Premier League – they’ve got a lot to live up to.
Our landlord is putting West Ham’s form down to the quality of players that Bilic has to choose from – and he feels that the Hammers boss needs to move a few of them on.
So with that in mind, here’s 3 players West Ham really should have sold by now – Do you agree?
Luka Belić
Luka Belic is a 20-year-old forward player that has struggled to break into the Hammers first-team since arriving at the club last summer.
He made his professional debut for OFK Beograd back in 2012, making him the youngest player to ever play in the top flight of Serbian football. But since that point, he’s been on the sidelines at West Ham and it’s difficult to see how he’s going to edge the likes of Lanzini and Payet out of the first-team.
Belic hasn’t yet made a first-team appearance for the Hammers either.
He’s currently serving a six-month loan deal at Motherwell, but he’s a man that might have been best to move on this summer on a permanent deal, rather than heading out on loan.
Andy Carroll
In a way, you’ve got to feel a tad sorry for constantly sidelined Andy Carroll, who always seems to be injured.
He’s now feared to be on the sidelines until at least October with a knee injury and you’ve got to wonder if he’s been good value for money since signing back in the summer of 2013.
He’s scored 23 in 92 appearances which is a good record, but considering his likely high wages and constant injury troubles – he might not have been the best investment long-term.
He’s a player that West Ham should have really sold by now.
Pedro Obiang
A signing from Sampdoria in the summer of 2015, Pedro Obiang arrived with pretty high expectations. But after making just six appearances last season, he’s somewhat slipped off the radar a little.
It’s common knowledge that the Hammers are struggling this season and he might be a decent option to give the likes of Kouyate and Noble a break – but West Ham might have been better to try and recoup some of the money they spent on him last summer.
A backup is often useful – but not if they simply are not good enough.
