Arsene Wenger’s men are having very much a similar season to those they have had in the last decade.

The talk around the pool table here among the punters in the Transfer Tavern has long been about Wenger and if it is time for the club to move on from the legendary Frenchman.

However, with two weeks of the January transfer window now done and dusted with, Arsenal fans are once again getting twitchy over potential signings and sales at their beloved club.

Alexandre Lacazette

Pacey French striker Lacazette is once again having a fine season over in France, with 13 goals to his name already, sitting only behind Edinson Cavani in the scoring charts.

Lacazette has long been rumoured to be of interest of many clubs around Europe, and Wenger might be wise to try and swoop.

Arsenal would be getting an excellent forward player in the Lyon man, and someone who certainly knows where the back of the net is.

Davy Klaassen

Classy Dutch midfielder Klaassen is a product of the Ajax youth system and has developed into one of the best players in the Dutch game over the past few seasons.

Many Dutch players tend to move on eventually, and the time might be right for Klaassen to chance his arm in England.

Arsenal would be the perfect club for him to carry on improving in his career, and he would add some extra guile to the Gunners in terms of going forward.

Jose Fonte

If Arsenal want to shore up their backline and add some Premier League experience to the squad, then Jose Fonte could be the man Wenger looks to snap up.

Fonte has handed in a transfer request with the Saints, making it clear he sees his future elsewhere.

Despite being the wrong side of 30, Fonte still has plenty to offer and could be an astute bit of business if Wenger could pull it off.
