The Daily Mail have been reporting that Carlos Tevez turned down a chance to re-sign for the club over wage demands and the Hammers fans here in the Transfer Tavern aren’t too sure what to think about the whole situation.

Tevez came to the Premier League in a shock deal for the East London outfit, and was a revelation.

He scored spectacular goals and put in a massive shift every time he stepped on the pitch to eventually help the club avoid relegation.

He soon moved on to Manchester United but his lasting legacy is still noted to this day as one of the best players to have played in claret and blue.

Whether a deal can be struck now remains to be seen but if anything did come to pass it would be a sensational return to the Premier League for one of its most talked about players in recent years.

He’d be their best forward

While old Father Time has caught up and perhaps he isn’t the player he was, Tevez is still a very good one and better than what Slaven Bilic currently has.

The only Hammers forwards that seems capable of scoring goals regularly is Andy Carroll and he’s going to have question marks over his fitness for the rest of his career.

Tevez however, seemingly never gets injured, he’d play nearly every week and his talent linked up with a certain Dimitri Payet would be exciting to watch.

Champions League experience

After the Argentine left Upton Park initially, he embarked on a career on both sides of Manchester. Starting with United he won both the Premier League title and the Champions League before moving to City to win the league again.

This experience, especially that in Europe, would be huge for West Ham who are in the Europa League once more and Tevez would help lead the side on the continent.

Financial benefit

Tevez is clearly expecting big wages but regardless of what happens with that side of things, if he does move to the club you can expect a huge boost in revenue from his re-signing.

When the Argentine signed for West Ham last time he was still a bit of an unknown (on this continent anyway) and the Hammers could not fully utilise the star they had in their midst.

Now though, if he was to sign, they know they’d be getting a now world renowned player to help promote the clubs new era.
