If there’s anything supporters in the Transfer Tavern love it’s a bit of nostalgia, and however old you might be – everyone loves a bit of Football Manager!
The game goes back to before the millennium and year after year, fans around the country are still lapping it up as they attempt to take the likes of Biggleswade United to the Champions League final in under a decade.
And one of the favoured techniques in the game is trying to predict which youngsters from various clubs are going to make it to the top.
Who is going to be the next Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, and who might turn out to be the next Zavon Hines? Only the most seasoned of FM experts will know.
But here at the Football Transfer Tavern, we want to give some of you a head start ahead of Football Manager’s release in November.
So with that in mind, here’s 3 West Ham wonderkids you must sign on Football Manager 17…
Toni Martinez
18-year-old striker Toni Martinez agreed a deal to join the Hammers earlier this year, with very little fanfare.
He’s a young forward who has banged in over 100 goals in four seasons for Valencia’s youth sides and there is real optimism amongst the West Ham faithful in the Football Transfer Tavern that the Spanish youth international could go on to be a top player in the future.
He has been playing in the Hammers development squad and has netted three times in three games.
A potential star for the future, so keep an eye out on Football Manager!
Lewis Page
West Ham United already have one of the best English full-backs on their books in Aaron Creswell but there is real optimism that Lewis Page could be the next young star to come through their ranks.
The 20-year-old is currently on loan with League One strugglers Coventry City where he will stay until January 2016.
He’s already featured in five of the Sky Blues’ fixtures so far this season and looks to be an important part of their squad until at least the new year.
His one key strength? His fantastic crossing ability – Andy Carroll would absolutely love this man’s delivery.
Reece Oxford
17-year-old Reece Oxford is probably the most well-known player on this list and he’s expected to be one of the best too.
He’s considered one of the best prospects in youth football, and despite his tender years he’s featured fourteen times for the Hammers senior side – playing at both centre-back and in holding midfield.
He’s a versatile player and a real leader – he’s captained the U21 side despite being four years younger than some of his colleagues.
He won’t be cheap on FM this year – but our landlord thinks he will be worth every penny.
