Our Tottenham fans here in the Transfer Tavern are gearing up for tonight’s game against Gent in the Europa League and are expecting a big win.
The Lilywhites go into the match at Wembley tonight knowing they need to score to get through into the round of 16 thanks to a shocking loss in Belgium last week.
It’s only 1-0, though, and so Mauricio Pochettino will surely feel that his side have more than enough quality to overturn the deficit and carry on their march to the trophy.
It’s certainly a tournament the club can win when you look at the talent available to the Argentine and our landlord reckons if they really go for it, they’re a real threat.
Time to name a strong XI for this one, then, so here’s who our landlord reckons should play for Spurs tonight…
GK: Hugo Lloris

The Frenchman is top-class and will need to be on top form to ensure that Spurs are not dumped out in a shock loss to the Belgians this evening.
RB: Kyle Walker

Whilst Danny Rose has kicked on again this season Kyle Walker arguably hasn’t. He’ll be looking to influence this game on the big Wembley pitch though.
CB: Jan Vertonghen

Our local Spurs fans here by the bar are very pleased to see Vertonghen back. The club look much more solid with him in the side.
CB: Toby Alderweireld

They only look their most solid when this man is alongside Vertonghen, though. Spurs have really missed having the two together through injury at times this season.
LB: Ben Davies

Danny Rose is still out and so Ben Davies is surely going to play once more. He’ll want to prove he can compete at this level for a club like Tottenham.
CDM: Mousa Dembele

Dembele is a real powerhouse and will be keen to put his stamp on this game from the get-go. If Spurs are to win he’ll need to be firing on all cylinders.
CDM: Victor Wanyama

The Kenyan midfielder has been on of the signings of the season for Spurs. He breaks the game up brilliantly and will be key to a Spurs victory here.
RAM: Christian Eriksen

Eriksen has gone well in recent weeks and it’s in these games where he needs to carry that on. Spurs need him to create chances in order to overcome their current one goal deficit.
CAM: Dele Alli

Alli has had another stellar season but needs to prove himself on the European stage now. Taking Spurs far in this competition will be a good start to that.
LAM: Heung-Min Son

Heung is hit and miss but when he’s on it he has the ability to win the game for the Lilywhites. Pochettino will be keen to get him focused ahead of kick-off for this one then.
ST: Harry Kane

Kane blitzed Fulham in the FA Cup at the weekend and now he’ll be looking to fire Spurs into the next round of this competition. He’s the main threat and will want to show as such at Wembley tonight.
