Our Tottenham fans are hoping for a return to form this weekend as they prepare to face Middlesbrough on Saturday night.

Spurs have been going well this season and can certainly be considered one of Chelsea’s main rivals for the title – even if the Blues are looking pretty strong for the crown this year.

Indeed, the Stamford Bridge outfit will have only been buoyed further by this week’s results in the Premier League with both Arsenal and the Lilywhites dropping points.

Spurs drew away with Sunderland in a result that suggested they may fall short in the league this season and so they’ll be looking to bounce back this weekend against another north-east side – Middlesbrough – this weekend.

Boro are a decent side and will be tough to beat, our landlord reckons, but the main man behind the bar also thinks the White Hart Lane club will take the victory – providing they go with this line-up…

GK: Hugo Lloris

Lloris missed the game at Sunderland thanks to an illness but should be back for this one. He’ll be keen to remind us all why he is no.1 at Spurs.

RB: Kyle Walker

Walker flies up and down the wing and will be crucial to breaking Boro down. Aitor Karanka’s men will likely sit in and so the collective Spurs effort is what will see them through.

CB: Toby Alderweireld

The Belgian defender is missing his compatriot Jan Vertonghen but is still doing a good job. He’s one of the best in the league and will be hoping for a quiet day.

CB: Eric Dier

With centre-back injuries and the arrival of Victor Wanyama, Eric Dier has been a central defender more often than not this season. Expect him to continue here for this one.

LB: Ben Davies

Danny Rose picked up an injury against Sunderland and our landlord reckons Ben Davies will come in. The Welshman isn’t as good as the Englishman but should still be able to do a good job.

CDM: Mousa Dembele

Dembele is hugely under-rated even with Spurs’ new found reputation. He’ll be key to the Lilywhites winning the midfield battle against the Riverside Stadium club this weekend.

CDM: Victor Wanyama

Wanyama has been one of the signings of the season and has instantly made the step up. He’s taken Eric Dier’s place and that is hugely impressive.

RAM: Heung-Min Son

Heung-Min Son has been very hit and miss and so our landlord isn’t sure what he’s going to do this weekend. He could be class, though, and will likely start.

CAM: Dele Alli

Alli went through a nice purple patch of form earlier this season but has slightly moved away from that. He’s the real deal, though, and should be back amongst the goals soon.

LAM: Christian Eriksen

Eriksen can either win a game or go missing and in that sense he must be a very frustrating person to watch at the Lane. He’ll need to be at his best to break down Boro here.

ST: Harry Kane

Kane against a sturdy Boro defence could be a good battle to watch. If the back-four give him the space, though, it’ll be curtains for the men from the north-east.
