Spurs have a got a huge game coming up on Tuesday night against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League.

Their supporters here in the Tavern are absolutely buzzing, knowing an away win in Germany will really boost their chances of getting out of the group stages.

It won’t be easy though, as their opponents Bayer really are made of really tough stuff and are going steadily in their domestic league.

Whilst they only sit in sixth in the Bundesliga, they’ve had seriously impressive wins over Hamburg and Dortmund in recent weeks and shouldn’t be taken lightly in the slightest.

The landlord here has tipped Pochettino’s side to come away victorious and if we’re being honest, we reckon they’ll bag the points as well, even without the likes of Harry Kane.

So with that in mind, here’s our Tottenham XI that will overcome Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday evening…

GK: Hugo Lloris

Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is one of the Premier League’s best and he’ll no-doubt be trusted to keep the goals out against Leverkusen on Tuesday.

Will have to be at his best to keep former Manchester United man Javier Hernandez out of the goals too.

RB: Kyle Walker

Kyle Walker will be the man who starts at right-back and as we’ve seen throughout his career, he’ll be looking to really get forward on that right-hand side.

He’s one of the most exciting defenders in the game and can really make things happen offensively.

CB: Kevin Wimmer

With Toby Alderweireld set for a spell on the sidelines after sustaining an injury in the 1-1 draw with West Brom, Kevin Wimmer could be the man drafted into the Spurs first-team for this one.

It’s an excellent chance for the young defender to stake a first-team claim.

CB: Jan Vertonghen

Jan Vertonghen has been ever-present in the Spurs side this season, and we’re expecting him to start the game against Bayer on Tuesday evening.

He brings real balance to the Spurs back-four and he’ll have to have a strong game to keep the likes of Volland and Kiessling quiet.

LB: Danny Rose

Much like defensive partner Kyle Walker, Danny Rose’ game is styled on an urgency to get forward.

Like Walker, he gives Spurs so much tenacity in attack and he’ll be looking to attack his opposite number as much as possible throughout the game.

CDM: Victor Wanyama

One of the reasons Victor Wanyama would have made the move to London is to play in the Champions League, and this is another opportunity to impress.

Hilarious tweets aside, he’s been strong so far this season and will hope to keep the Bayer forwards quiet as he marshals the defence.

CDM: Moussa Sissoko

Like Wanyama, Moussa Sissoko joined the club to feature in these huge European ties and he’ll be as fired up as anybody for the game against the Germans.

Out of everyone in this Spurs squad, he’s probably got the most to prove too. A good game could really endear him to the Spurs faithful.

RM: Christian Eriksen

Eriksen isn’t the most naturally gifted wideman of all-time but the skill and quality he brings to this Spurs midfield is absolutely fantastic.

He struggled early-on at White Hart Lane but these days, he’s frequently one of the most important players on the pitch.

CAM: Dele Alli

There’s only one man who will be playing in attacking midfield on Tuesday evening and that is recent goalscorer Dele Alli.

He continues to impress and his goal earned his side a vital point at the Hawthorns on Saturday.

He’ll be looking to move the ball around the forward ranks and really worry the Leverkusen defence.

LM: Erik Lamela

Argentine winger Erik Lamela is another that took time to adapt to English football, but now he’s playing well and looks every bit the part in this Spurs side.

He’s skillful, pacy in attack and hard-working. His directness will be really important if Spurs want to get a result on Tuesday.

ST: Heung Son Min

Son was dropped for the game against West Brom and it really did show.

We’re still waiting to see the best from Vincent Jansson but it will take him time to adapt to his new surroundings.

Meanwhile Korean star Son has been in inspired form so far this season, and even without Harry Kane, Spurs are flying and it’s mostly down to his form.

Great to see him playing well once again.
