4 players who could follow Victor Wanyama to Tottenham Hotspur this summer

If you’ve been following the rumours here at the Tavern over the last few days, you will have seen the numerous reports linking Victor Wanyama with a move to Tottenham.

The deal now looks set to be completed within days, with the announcement expected by the end of the week.

Whilst this is a good signing for the club, the punters here at the Tavern don’t think that it will signal the end of the spending for the club this summer, with the club reportedly attempting to bolster their forward line as well as wanting to bring in a central defender.

In fact, our landlord thinks we might just be seeing a few more HUGE names on their way to White Hart Lane this summer.

Here are FOUR players who could follow Victor Wanyama to Tottenham this summer…..

Michy Batshuayi

One player that might end up at White Hart Lane this summer is Michy Batshuayi.

Tottenham have been keen on the Marseille striker for some time, and it looks like they will be trying to make that interest concrete this summer.

The Metro is reporting that the club is open to spending up to £25 million on the player which suggests that he is high on the list of targets for the London club.

The Metro adds that they are confident of getting the deal; meaning we could see his signature on a Tottenham contract sooner rather than later.

Franco Vasquez

Another attacking target that Spurs are reportedly keen on is Franco Vasquez.

Reports have been linking the striker with a move to White Hart Lane for months, but now it looks like it might actually be happening.

The Daily Star is reporting that he has revealed that there is a 100% chance of him leaving Palmero this summer, putting Tottenham on notice.

With Vasquez seemingly intent on leaving the club this summer, could this one happen sooner rather than later?

Alexandre Lacazette

Another player that we have seemingly been reporting on for months is Alexandre Lacazette.

Last month there was news of a £30 million bid from West Ham for the striker, but that has yet to materialise.

Tottenham have always been mentioned alongside West Ham as having interest in the striker, but The Guardian is reporting now that Daniel Levy is keen to offload underutilised talent in order to fund a move for the Frenchman.

Given the concrete interest in other strikers as listed here, Lacazette would likely be down the pecking order for the club.

But if they are unsuccessful in battling Chelsea for Vasquez; they may well look at Lacazette once again.

Breel Embolo

Another player that seems to be a target of a host of clubs this summer is Breel Embolo.

We brought you the news several days ago regarding Manchester United’s interest in the forward, but it would seem that Tottenham’s attacking struggles has pointed them towards the man touted as “the next Didier Drogba” too.

The Telegraph is reporting that the club is actually looking at Embolo as an alternative to Michy Batshuayi, so this one might be more likely to happen than some of the others listed here.

Much like the deal for Batshuayi, Embolo exists in a list of a number of attacking targets for Tottenham, as the club looks to bolster their forward line.

Our landlord is almost certain that at least one of these striker’s will end up at White Hart Lane before the summer is out.
