It has not been a good start to the season for the West Ham fans in the Football Transfer Tavern…
After a great season last year and a huge stadium move over the summer – the West Ham fans in the Tavern were expecting their team to kick on and cement themselves as a Premier League force this year.
However – that has not happened.
The Hammers currently sit in the relegation zone in the Premier League, and the West Ham fans in the Tavern are sweating on their Premier League safety this year.
The punters in-house rarely agree on anything; but the West Ham fans in the Tavern are definitely reading from the same page this year…
With that said, FOUR thoughts every West Ham fan has 100% had this season…
Bilic Out?

Despite the fact that Bilic is a fan favourite amongst the West Ham fans in the Tavern – they would be lying if they hadn’t considered the departure of the West Ham boss.
The results so far this season speak for themselves, and West Ham simply have not been good enough.
If players underperform – it is the manager that often pays the ultimate price; and that is a fact that could still ring true if their fortunes don’t turn around.
Everyone knows how good Bilic is; but if he can’t turn West Ham around – he could be out the door.
Payet

Whilst Payet is somewhat of a legendary figure in the Tavern for his unbelievable exploits last season; he cannot do it all by himself.
However, that hasn’t stopped the West Ham fans in the Tavern from thinking up a dream scenario in which Payet saves the Hammers and forces them over the line.
After a late return from international duty, Payet has come back in worse form than he was in last year – and this has left the West Ham fans in the Tavern thinking about when he could come back to his best.
We have seen moments of glory from the Frenchman, not least with his stunning goal this past weekend, that imply he will be back to his best – but the West Ham fans in the Tavern will be hoping he is back to his best sooner rather than later.
One Season Wonder

They don’t want to admit it, but some West Ham fans are undoubtedly wondering if the Hammers were simply just a one-season-wonder.
Last season was unbelievable for the club, challenging for European football and generally overachieving throughout the campaign – and many expected them to go one better this year.
However, as mentioned, the complete opposite has happened – and that has left fans wondering if it was just a fluke.
It seems unlikely, but what if West Ham are destined to be a mid-table side forever?
Surely a knee-jerk reaction; but it is a concern.
Relegation?

The ultimate concern. The worst thought – but they can’t deny that they’ve thought about it.
West Ham are, at this stage, amidst a relegation fight.
The Hammers have struggled, and if their form continues – they will almost certainly go down.
Now, in reality – nobody is expecting them to get relegated this season; but until their form turns around – it is always a possibility.
The West Ham fans in the Tavern are hoping it won’t come to that, of course – but they are nervous.
