5 big players Newcastle United should target once taken over

Newcastle fans here in the Tavern are becoming increasingly optimistic as to the potential calibre of players that can be brought in after a takeover.

Newcastle, of recent times, have fallen out of love with owner Mike Ashley after what they believe to be down to the Toon Army owner not being willing to provide the money in desperate times of need. As a reoccurring lack of investment has caused a vicious cycle going from the Championship to the Premier League due to what is believed to be a lack of quality players brought in.

Having started the season in a positive manner they sit in the top half of the table, if they can manage to get the takeover sorted by January, then there is the possibility to bring in some quality assets over the window to really bolster their progress.

However, there is always room for improvements as The Tyneside club aims to cement their place in the Premier League for the foreseeable future. Therefore, the January transfer window could prove to be a very pivotal part of the Northern sides season.

So with Mike Ashley edging towards an exit, with a possibility of new owners and investors on the horizon. The fans will be hoping that this can have a successful effect on both the clubs season and the future of the club as many see this as a fresh start for the club.

So with a potential investment in the club, we take a look at 5  big name players the club can potentially bring in…

Ciro Immobile

The 27-year-old striker has been in fine form for both club and country in recent times as he already races ahead to an impressive 34 goals in 44 games for Italian side Lazio in the past two seasons. Having already scored 15 goals so far this season, this man looks to be in the form of his life as he finds the back of the net with ease.

The Italian international offers an incredibly diverse range of skills; dangerous aerial threat, a burst of speed, great strength and hold up ability with a prolific goal-scoring knack.

In our opinion, he would be a quality addition to the Tyneside ranks as he offers that natural goal scoring instinct that Newcastle are struggling to find of late.

Nabil Fekir

Nabil Fekir, the 24-year-old French international, is beginning to impress more and more as weeks go by after scoring 8 goals in 8 games so far this season. For a team that used to dip into the market for players that seemed to only be French, this man would arguably be the best buy yet.

Gaining more and more plaudits as the Frenchmen seems to be progressing from level to level, it looks as if it won’t be long until this man can possibly be dropping into the Premier League.

Quincy Promes

The Dutch international has set the Russian League alight in recent years as he continues to prove himself as one of the most promising players in world football. The 25-year-old has netted 49 times in 95 games for Russian side Spartak Moscow as his attacking outlet continues to work magic both domestically and on the Champions League stage.

Offering a very fast paced and tricky style of play, the winger can go past his defenders with ease as his extra burst of pace and trickery make him a defenders nightmare. His added goal scoring threat could cure the Newcastle forwards troubles as the Dutchman has the potential to take the Premier League by storm.

Danilo Pereira

The Portuguese giants Porto’s central midfield star has proved himself to be one of the best central midfielders in Europe in the past season as he continues to prove that he is the real deal.

The Portuguese international was one of the key cogs in the impressive 2017 side who proved incredibly difficult to break down. He Averaged 2.2 tackles and 2.7 interceptions per League game as he looks to break up the play in the middle of the park.

For a team that could do with an extra established passing and possession play option to fit the Benitez style of play, this man could be the one to turn to with his 87.1% passing accuracy becoming an increasingly impressive stat.

Kostas Manolas

The 26-year-old Greek international has impressed over the duration of last season and at the start of this one. A centre-back, who offers an incredible aerial ability, who is very tough and powerful along with the mixture of his sweetly timed tackles in the final third. As an unrelenting marker, his pure talent contributes to his pace and strength as he has the ability to violate any forwards trying to progress.

In the Premier League, an assured and solidified back line is a must with the pedigree of forwards players at certain teams disposals. Therefore, this man would be a quality signing in helping towards the prevention of any dangerous opposition attacks.

So Newcastle fans, would you like to or could you see any of these players at your club come January?
