5 clubs Negredo could join including Chelsea and Arsenal

Fans in the Transfer Tavern are discussing claims that a former Premier League striker could seek a return to England and are arguing about which club would benefit most from his services.

With sources such as Talksport reporting that former Manchester City striker, Alvaro Negredo, could be keen on a return to the Premier League in January, the Spaniard could be set for a move in the New Year.

Dubbed ‘The Beast’, Negredo endured a difficult time with the Citizens and injury problems cost him dearly; after he initially started in fine-form, creating a deadly partnership alongside Sergio Aguero.

That showed his talents and we believe the following five clubs would benefit from adding Alvaro Negredo to their squads in January- it could just make their season!

Which clubs should be looking to sign Alvaro Negredo? Let us know in the comments below!

Chelsea

Chelsea City

Make no mistake about it, Chelsea are a club in crisis and simply aren’t scoring enough goals. Costa is whinging and whining, Remy is too injury prone and Falcao is.. well Falcao.

Though Negredo may not be the immediate answer to turn Chelsea into title favorites again, he could certainly provide some firepower to a misfiring side if he was keen on a move back to England.

Arsenal

Alternatively, Negredo could opt for a club who is faring a lot better in the League this year in the form of second placed Arsenal.

While the Gunners aren’t having trouble finding the back of the net at the moment, a recent injury to Theo Walcott, combined with the continued fitness concerns over Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck, means that Wenger should really consider other options if he wants to win his first title in 11 years.

Additionally, with Arsenal’s Champions League position hanging in the balance, Wenger would not really need to be concerned about Negredo being cup tied.

Liverpool

Liverpool

With Jurgen Klopp set to splash the cash in January in order to break into the top four, Negredo could be a shrewd bit of business for him here.

The German holds injury concerns over Daniel Sturridge, whilst Ings is out for the season and Origi not look quite ready – so Negredo could provide further support and firepower to an attack that unfortunately hasn’t set the Kop alight so far.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham

Though a 5-1 demolition of Bournemouth on the weekend suggests Tottenham have no issues with finding the back of the net, any injury to Harry Kane would leave them short in attack and would thus be a huge blow to their top four chances.

Negredo would therefore be a good match for Tottenham, with Spurs fans well aware of his capabilities, having scored in a few hammerings dealt out by City in his time there.

West Ham

Fans and the team to stay united in sight of long-term goals

A surprise choice you may think, but with West Ham demonstrating greater financial clout in recent years, this is a deal that certainly isn’t out of the question.

With uncertainty over the fitness of Andy Carroll and Enner Valencia, Negredo could be a serious coup and a real statement to help West Ham consolidate their position as serious European contenders this season.

Negredo is used to the physical English game, and could certainly provide an extra dimension to an already impressive and aggressive Hammers attack.
