Euro 2016 provides the perfect chance for clubs to take a closer look at players they might want to sign ahead of the new league seasons, and our locals in the Transfer Tavern are itching for the tournament to kick off in June.
The championships provides the opportunity to take a closer look at some of the players their clubs could sign in the coming months, and the Arsenal fans here can’t wait to see who their team gets linked with as the tournament progresses.
The Gunners came second in the Premier League in 2015/16 and are desperate to go one better next campaign, but know that all the other teams are set to strengthen, and that means the north London club must do so too.
There’s plenty of great groups to peruse over at Euro 2016 and Group C offers one of the most competitive line-ups at the championships with Germany, Ukraine, Poland and Northern Ireland set to duke it out.
This also means Group C will be full of top class players on show and our landlord here at the Transfer Tavern thinks this FIVE should interest Arsenal in particular…..

Andriy Yarmolenko
Yarmolenko is a fantastic player and one of Ukraine’s finest.
He can play on either wing and weighs in with 23 goals in 57 international appearances.
Yarmolenko has had another impressive season for Dynamo Kiev as they won their domestic league and would be a great addition to Arsenal, improving on the likes of Theo Walcott who has had an inconsistent season.
Yehven Konoplyanka
On the opposite side to Yarmolenko is another of Ukraine’s better players – Yehven Konoplyanka.
The Sevilla winger plays on the left but cuts in on his right and this, complemented by Yarmolenko on the other flank, makes the Ukrainian’s a potent threat going forward.
Konoplyanka has eleven goals in 51 international games and will be a large part for any success his national team have at the Euro’s.
Julian Draxler
Draxler only joined Wolfsburg from Schalke last year but has already settled into his new surroundings with six goals and six assists in 24 Bundesliga appearances, and could really announce himself to the world stage with strong performances for the Germans this summer.
He’ll find himself up against some of the best midfielders in the world just in his own squad but if he does get the opportunity, he’ll grasp it with both hands.
Grzegorz Krychowiak
Krychowiak could be the defensive midfielder Arsenal have been waiting for.
For so long the Gunners have needed a top class holding midfielder to shield their defence and for many this has been their downfall every season.
Krychowiak is as tenacious as they come, has a wealth of experience for Poland and Sevilla and would be the perfect anchor for Arsenal’s creative forces to play freely, just as the likes of Robert Lewandowski can do for the Poles because of him.
Arkadiusz Milik
Whilst most of the attention will be on Robert Lewandowski as the main attacking threat for Poland this Summer, opposition defences cannot overlook the threat of the young Ajax forward Milik.
He is 22-years-old but scored six goals in nine EURO 2016 qualifying games and also fired Ajax close to the Eredivisie title.
He has bags of potential to become a world class forward and Arsenal fans would love him to profit from the service that Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil provide.
