The Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been fairly happy during the campaign and despite not being able to win the Premier League, their supporters are excited at what the future might hold.
With Champions League football set to grace White Hart Lane next season, boss Mauricio Pochettino will already have one eye cast towards his recruitment drive which is set to take place this summer.
Money won’t be an issue for the Argentine boss and Chairman Daniel Levy is likely to give him a hefty bounty to make another assault on the title.
Pochettino has proved in the past however that the bank doesn’t always need to be broken in order to secure good quality players.
Our writer Lee Clarke was chatting to the landlord here in the Tavern about which players are set to become free agents this summer, and he picked out FIVE that Spurs could sign, to give them the best chance of winning the title……

What a statement of intent it would be should Tottenham go all out to sign this Swedish superstar during the summer.
The thought of Harry Kane partnering the sensational strike in attack for the Spurs, is really a mouth watering prospect for the club to contend.
Spurs would probably have to knock their plans for a new stadium on the head with how much Zlatan would cost in wages but if he wins them the Premier League title, who would care?
Spurs could really flex their ambitious muscles to try and pull off a deal and it would be the biggest in the club’s history if something could be put in place.
Michael Carrick
The defensive midfielder signed for Manchester United from Tottenham Hotspur in 2006, following 64 appearances in just two seasons with the club.
A popular figure during his time with the Spurs, Carrick could still do a job for the club despite now being 34-years-old.
Arsenal are keen to sign the ball-playing midfielder and Spurs could trump their rivals with a move of their own.
With Spurs possessing a young squad at present, Carrick could be the experienced player that is required to aid the current crop in their development.
Carrick’s wages might be pretty excessive but a two-year contract will probably see him end his career at White Hart Lane.
John Terry
Imagine the scenes if the Chelsea legend made a cross-London switch to White Hart Lane, when he finally departs Stamford Bridge in the summer.
I am not sure Terry would jump at the chance in all honesty, but the chance to show Chelsea what they are missing out on must be a big temptation for the ex-England skipper.
Terry has won all there is to win in the blue of Chelsea and his experience could be just what Spurs need as they look to secure a first Premier League title.
The central defender still has a lot of football left in his legs and Spurs could certainly do a lot worse.
Steve Mandanda
The French goalkeeper has played over 300 times for Marseille and could depart the club, when his contract comes to an end during the summer.
Michel Vorm has hardly been inspiring when he has been given a chance to shine in the absence of Hugo Lloris, with a backup stopper likely to be sought in the summer.
The 31-year-old is an experienced professional and would really crack up the goalkeeping competition at White Hart Lane, without breaking the bank.
Mandanda’s form whilst playing for the French giants has seen him collect 21 caps for the national team such is his ability between the posts.
Sofiane Feghouli
The French-born Algeria international looks set to leave Valencia when his contract expires during the summer, with no shortage of suitors expected.
The winger has been in fine form for the La Liga outfit this season and has four goals from his 22 appearances, in what has been a problematic campaign for Los Blancos.
Spurs will probably look to add some width to their team over the summer in order to add depth ready for their Champions League campaign, with Feghouli a seemingly solid addition to their side.
He wouldn’t break the bank in wages and with time on his side the 26-year-old could really thrive playing in a free-flowing Spurs side.
