Tottenham left it late once again at the weekend with Christian Eriksen’s 88th minute winner at home to Sunderland keeping Mauricio Pochettino’s side well in the hunt for fourth place.
Spurs are just three points outside that coveted final Champions League place although tonight, attentions will turn to the Capital One Cup semi-final against Sheffield United and the opportunity for Pochettino to lead his team out at Wembley after just seven months in the hotseat.
After a slow start, the Argentine coach has started to flourish at White Hart Lane, with their habit of scoring late goals a testament to his training methods.
He will be hoping he has done enough to convince chairman Daniel Levy to back him with some funds this month for some new additions, however nothing has happened as of yet.
That has not prevented the rumours however, with some proving more believable than others.

Lukas Podolski
When it became apparent Lukas Podolski was set to leave Arsenal this month, some reports suggested it would make sense for the German to simply move across North London to Tottenham.
The World Cup winner was pretty adamant that was never going to happen, tweeting the transfer will only take place once hell freezes over.
He completed a switch to Serie A giants Inter Milan earlier this month.
Xherdan Shaqiri
The Swiss international became the second reported Tottenham target to move to Inter Milan this month despite some reports suggesting Spurs were amongst the favourites for his signature.
The 23-year-old was available for just £11 million from Bayern Munich and Pochettino was understood to have attempted to lure him to North London in the summer.
But a bid never came from White Hart Lane and Shaqiri will link up with Podolski under Roberto Mancini at the San Siro.
Wilfried Bony
Mauricio Pochettino is said to be chasing a new goalscorer and having signed Ben Davies and Michel Vorm from Swansea City in the summer, reports suggested he fancied raiding the South Wales club once more for Wilfried Bony.
It all depended on whether Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado could be sold however, with Adebayor claiming last week he was happy to stay in North London.
That left the door open for Manchester City, who promptly signed Bony for a massive £28 million – a fee Tottenham would surely have never been able to afford anyway.
Jay Rodriguez
The Southampton forward is yet to feature this season following the horror injury he suffered at the back end of the 2013/14 campaign.
But that has not stopped Pochettino registering an interest in the player he helped to become the second highest English goalscorer of the previous campaign.
But why Tottenham would want to spend £20 million plus on a striker who is yet to prove his fitness after suffering such a serious injury is anyone’s guess – and most likely not true!
Morgan Schneiderlin
This is quite simply a transfer rumour that has gone on for long enough and needs to stop. Tottenham made no secret of their desire to sign the Southampton midfielder in the summer but the fact they had three bids rejected may have proved quite a big clue to suggest this is not a deal that is going to come off this month.
Given Schneiderlin has stated his happiness on the south coast and the way in which the Saints are currently above Spurs in third place in the table, a deal seems even more unlikely than it did six months ago.
