The Manchester United followers here in the Transfer Tavern are desperately keen to see the back of the 2015/16 campaign.
After a pretty average season by the standards of a great football club such as Manchester United, their supporters are now turning their attentions towards the next campaign, when they hope for more success in the major competitions.
The playing squad at Old Trafford is something that will need improving. The current squad of players have fallen short in key areas and that will need some work in the summer.
In order to bring players in it is very likely that some players will have to depart to free up some much needed funds, having spent over £200 million since the arrival of Louis van Gaal.

Marouane Fellaini
With all due respect to the Belgian’s previous club Everton, but a club such as the Toffees is really where Fellaini should be playing.
At a club like Manchester United the midfielder simply doesn’t do enough in games to warrant being on the books at such a great club.
He isn’t well renowned enough to fit into the Manchester United way and his inability to hold down one position also counts against him here.
The Red Devils simply have to cut their losses on this flop during the summer transfer window.
Juan Mata
Whilst Mata is a fantastic little player, the Spaniard just isn’t being utilised in the right position at United, which suggest that they might as well sell him.
The Spaniard operates more effectively in a number ten role just behind a striker but Louis van Gaal appears more willing to play him out wide.
Mata has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford over recent weeks and it would appear that the player himself is now growing increasingly frustrated, at not being able to play in his more natural position.
Morgan Schneiderlin
The midfielder signed from Southampton in the summer and the Frenchman has failed to live up to expectations so far.
Still only 26-years-old, Schneidelin played over 200 times for the Saints before his summer transfer to Old Trafford and has featured 19 times this season.
Maybe it is the way in which van Gaal has used him, but he just hasn’t reached top gear as of yet and unless he starts to do more in games, the future looks fairly bleak for Schneiderlin as a Manchester United player.
Any player who wins 13 caps for a nation like France should be a more than good acquisition for the Red Devils, but it just hasn’t worked out for him so far.
Paddy McNair
The Northern Irishman has played just seven times for the Manchester United first-team this season, and the jury remains out on whether or not he will ever be good enough, to hold down a regular spot.
For the sake of the youngster’s career, the Red Devils would be better equipped getting rid of the 20-year-old now, which would make room for the club to bring in a better option at the back and allow McNair to go somewhere and play regular football.
Whilst he may go on and have a bright career in professional football, it is unlikely that the Red Devils will wait too long to determine whether or not that will be at Old Trafford.
Memphis Depay
The Dutch winger has been useless since his arrival from PSV in the summer and patience must be disintegrating with the club’s hierarchy.
When a club spends £25 million on one player it is natural for them to expect a certain return on their outlay and on current form, they could be waiting quite a while for Depay to show them one.
The 22-year-old looks lightweight in possession and can often be wasteful with the ball, which suggests United might be better served flogging the Dutchman and upgrading to a better model.
