Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern have popped many a cork in celebration this season after a fantastic start to their campaign, which has seen them remain undefeated since the opening day.
Mauricio Pochettino has quietly assembled a fantastic young squad that can fight for Champions League football, with the Lilywhites looking set to be in a straight shoot-out with the likes of Liverpool for a top-four spot.
Whilst their performances have been impressive, and the new signings have fit in nicely, there’s still work to be done to make Spurs one of the Premier League’s elite- as they aim to continue to grow and become title contenders, as well as a force on the European stage.
Outgoing deals are just as significant for top-clubs as they look to offload those that can damage squad morale and free-up space for incoming deals, so Tottenham fans can expect to wave goodbye to a fair few players in January.

Andros Townsend
A likely January exit will see Andros Townsend finally leave White Hart Lane, after finding himself out of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans ever since the Argentine took charge. With Roy Hodgson a big fan of the winger, he still has a chance of making the Euro 2016 squad.
To do that he needs regular football and a host of Premier League sides are said to be interested, including strugglers Newcastle United and Aston Villa. While both clubs would be a step-down from Spurs, it’s a move he needs to make.
Milos Veljkovic
The 20-year-old defender is one of the unknown players at Spurs but he’s extremely unhappy with his playing time and has vowed to quit the club next summer, when he can leave on a free transfer. However, a sale may be on the cards in January.
Serbian clubs are keen on the young prospect, including Red Star Belgrade and Partizan Belgrade, with the player looking likely to fall into obscurity after falling to make his impression in North London. He has two first-team appearances overall.
Michel Vorm
Vorm is a valued member of the squad, and will be crucial should anything happen to Hugo Lloris, but a player of his quality will be eyed by many- particularly those who can offer him regular first-team football.
Whilst Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be keen to bat away any interest in the Dutch international, Vorm may plead his case. He doesn’t have Euro 2016 football to look at, as Holland failed to qualify, but it’s a chance for him to become a regular Premier League starter once again.
Federico Fazio
Another defender that’s fallen out of favour at Tottenham is 28-year-old Federico Fazio, who has fallen victim to the tremendous rise of young talent at White Hart Lane. With everything going swimmingly, the club are unlikely to block an exit.
In truth, there seems to be no way for Fazio to become a regular feature at Tottenham and his age doesn’t help matters, as Pochettino wants a young, exciting side. He could remain in the Premier League, with his experience appealing to clubs in the bottom half, but a move abroad is likely.
Kevin Wimmer
Things haven’t gone quite as planned for Kevin Wimmer since arriving at Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, as he’s yet to make a Premier League appearance. An exciting 23-year-old, Wimmer won’t be sold permanently but a loan may be an option.
With Spurs looking confident, and Wimmer having no opportunities, it would be difficult to see Spurs turning down a loan bid from a fellow Premier League side, who could give the young Austrian international the chance to build his experience in England’s top-flight.
