The season may have ultimately finished in disappointment for Tottenham Hotspur, who failed to beat Leicester City to the Premier League title, but if you’d have offered Spurs fans Champions League football and a push for the title at the start of the term they’d have bitten your hand off.
It’s been a massive season of progression for Tottenham under Mauricio Pochettino, who has taken the squad to a new level since arriving from Southampton, and there’s every chance that they could end a half-century wait for a league title next term.
The team is strong enough but with other teams bolstering, Spurs can’t afford to be left behind in the transfer market and will be completing their own deals, with FC Sion striker Moussa Konate the latest name to be linked with a move to White Hart Lane.
Having heard that news, the lads are now discussing which players could join Konate in north London next season and they genuinely believe the following additions would make them title favourites.

Florian Thauvin
Known in England for a relatively unsuccessful spell in the north East with Newcastle United, who still own him, the young winger has shown his better form whilst on-loan with French giants Marseille this season.
The 23-year-old is unlikely to have a future at St James’ Park, unless Rafael Benitez sees differently, and Mauricio Pochettino’s interest in the young talent comes as a surprise but you wouldn’t argue with him, given his record of finding diamonds in the dust.
If Thauvin recovered his best form in the Premier League, he could end up being a very useful asset for a Spurs squad that faces an increased challenge competing on all fronts next season.
Victor Wanyama
The Kenyan international, who played under Mauricio Pochettino at Southampton, has been linked with following the Argentine boss to White Hart Lane ever since he left the south coast but, so far, such a move has failed to materialise.
That could be set to change over the summer though as a number of top-sides, including Tottenham, chase the influential midfielder and Spurs ranks do need bolstering if they are to compete at Champions League and Premier League level next term.
With Champions League football on the table for Wanyama at White Hart Lane, there’s every chance he could jump ship.
Saido Berahino
Another transfer story that’s stumbled on-and-on links England U21 international Saido Berahino with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, which failed to materialise last summer and led to some controversial incidents, where the young forward stated on social media he wouldn’t play for the Baggies again.
Since putting that behind him, Berahino has been a useful asset for Tony Pulis’ side and stills looks to be one of the best young forwards in British football. With Pochettino’s record with young players, there’s every chance he could develop the forward into a star.
With Harry Kane currently carrying the weight of responsibility up front, a strike partner could be exactly what Spurs need to achieve success.
Ryan Sessegnon
The 16-year-old full-back has become a revelation with struggling Championship outfit Fulham and his performances for the youth side have not gone unnoticed by the elite sides, with Spurs just one of many keen on the player’s services.
Whilst it’s unlikely the teenager would provide an immediate boost to Tottenham, he’s certainly one to watch moving forward and could cement a spot in Spurs’ backline for the next two decades, should he live up to his monumental potential.
Spurs face a wealth of competition for the player though, not least from arch-rivals Arsenal, so it’s not going to be an easy chase.
Moussa Dembele
Sticking with the Fulham theme, 19-year-old forward Moussa Dembele has made a name for himself in the Championship this season as he has starred for the first-team. Having been lured to England from the academy of French giants Paris Saint-Germain, the young forward has gone from strength-to-strength.
15 goals in 54 Championship appearances is a great return for such a young player and it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that Spurs could move to get both Berahino and Dembele signed during the same summer, as Spurs attacking ranks are relatively depleted.
Able to continue his development with a bigger club, Dembele could go on to become a star-man in the Premier League but, once again, the race for his signature won’t be easy.
