Arsenal boosted their hopes of a top four finish with a hard fought 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
A Santi Cazorla penalty and a controversial Olivier Giroud winner moved the Gunners up to third in the Premier League table, with 48 points from their 26 matches.
The Gunners also have an FA Cup quarter final against Manchester United to look forward to, as well as a favourable Champions League draw with Monaco in the last 16.
It could yet prove to be a memorable season for Arsene Wenger and his side, yet Arsenal fans continue to question why a squad with so much talent has once again failed to mount a sustained Premier League title challenge.
Too many players failed to deliver during a slow start to the season, and here we have identified five who looking back may feel they have let the club down during 2014-15.

Wojciech Szczesny
Whilst the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Southampton and Tottenham can point to moments in which their respective goalkeepers have been outstanding this season, the same cannot be said for Arsenal and Wojciech Szczesny.
There have been too many individual errors from the Pole, who has often crossed the fine line of being a confident goalkeeper to simply an arrogant one. The fact he has recently been caught smoking off the field has only compounded a miserable campaign, in which he has lost his place as number one goalkeeper to Colombian David Ospina.
Per Mertesacker
The German was outstanding for Arsenal during 2013-14, but has really struggled for consistent form this term.
He has not been helped by the fact he has spent so many matches alongside unnatural centre backs, following the lengthy injury to Laurent Koscielny.
But Mertesacker has failed to step up as the leader of Arsenal’s defensive unit, whilst the way in which the Gunners have conceded so many set pieces when they have a 6ft 6 giant such as Mertesacker leading the line tells it’s own story.
Mathieu Flamini
Wenger came under fire for his failure to add a defensive midfielder in the summer, with his faith in Flamini one of the reasons behind that decision.
The Frenchman has not been consistent enough in what is clearly a demanding role. Flamini’s best days are clearly behind him, with the fact he has lost his place to young Francis Coquelin in recent weeks an indication Wenger feels the same at last.
It would be a surprise if Flamini did not leave the club in the summer, with Arsenal in desperate need of a top class player in that position if they are to push onto the next level.
Mikel Arteta
Mikel Arteta has also been asked to perform in that defensive midfield position, although his impact on games has been on the steady decline for the past 12 months or so.
The Spaniard was linked with a return to his homeland in the summer, after a mixed 2013-14 campaign. Too often the former Everton man failed to make any sort of impact in the big games, with the Gunners record away to the big clubs with him anchoring the midfield little short of dreadful.
Like Flamini, it would be a surprise if Arteta was still at the Emirates next season.
Jack Wilshere
Jack Wilshere’s Arsenal career seems to have formed a consistent pattern of injury, under-performing, moments of promise, injury, smoking, under-performing, and more injury.
After a decent start to the season for both club and country, Wilshere has missed another three months of the season through injury.
The England man will find himself under pressure to step up his performance upon his return, as he simply hasn’t offered enough to Arsenal over the past 18 months during the times in which he has been fit.
